BACKGROUND:
In 2017, the three agencies will be collaborating on several projects, including repaving M-43 (West Main Street) from US-131 to Michikal Street, and M-43 (West Kalamazoo Avenue) from Pitcher Street to Douglas Avenue. In 2018, MDOT plans to repave US-131 Business Route (North Westnedge Avenue and North Park Street) from M-43 (West Michigan Avenue) to West Dunkley Street. MDOT construction includes sidewalk ramp upgrades and railroad crossing repairs. Project maps and schedules will be provided.
Kalamazoo city officials will attend to discuss coordination of city utility replacement projects, including sanitary sewer upgrades and construction of the nonmotorized trail along West Kalamazoo Avenue.
