KATS is Hiring! Full-Time Associate Planner

Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Associate Planner will assist in all aspects of the KATS performance-based planning process, including programming and analysis of related impacts and costs. The Associate Planner will participate in specific areas such as safety, freight, land use, and transit planning. They will interact and work cooperatively with officials at all governmental levels while promoting KATS objectives in a variety of public forums.

Policy Committee Meeting for April has been Cancelled

Due to the extension of the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order (EO 2020-42), the KATS Policy Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2020 has been cancelled.

KATS is in the early development stage of the 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) and the Transportation Survey is a crucial part. Please take a few short minutes to take the survey.  Once you take the survey, pass along the link for others to give their input!  The more participants, the more informed decisions KATS staff can make later in the process of the 2050 MTP.   2050 Transportation Survey

Rural Task Force #3 Meeting Announcement

In accordance with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ recommendations designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Executive Order 2020-15 declaring public bodies subject to the Open Meetings Act can use telephone or video conferencing technology to meet and conduct business, Rural Task Force #3 will be holding a meeting via a conference call on Wednesday April 8, 2020 at 10;00 a.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to allow local officials and interested citizens to provide input into the allocation of federal and state funds for eligible rural routes and transit systems in Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph counties for fiscal years 2020 – 2023.
