The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is an annual document identifying the planning priorities and activities to be carried out within the KATS metropolitan planning area. The FY22 UPWP DRAFT is now available for public comment through April 7, 2021. Comments may be submitted to KATS email at sstepek@katsmpo.org.

Rural Task Force #3 Meeting
In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ Emergency Order limiting indoor meeting sizes and legislation enacted by the State of Michigan legislature and signed by Governor Whitmer permitting virtual public meetings, the Rural Task Force #3 will be holding a meeting via a Microsoft Teams on Friday March 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.. The purpose of the meeting is to allow local officials and interested citizens to provide input into the allocation of state and federal funds for use on eligible rural routes and transit systems in Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph Counties for fiscal years 2021 – 2023.

Remote Technical Committee Meeting December 3, 2020
Following the Michigan Supreme Court decision on October 2, 2020 that invalidated COVID-19 related executive orders, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) issued an Emergency Order on October 5, 2020 under MCL 333.2253 restricting indoor gathering sizes to 20 percent of capacity. Michigan legislature Senate Bill 1108 passed the Senate on October 12,2020, the House of Representatives on October 13, 2020, and Governor Whitmer on October 16, 2020 permitting virtual public meetings. In accordance with these rulings and required parameters, public bodies subject to the Michigan Open Meetings Act are authorized to continue remote meeting participation and voting during the continuing COVID-19 global pandemic.
