In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ Emergency Order limiting indoor meeting sizes and legislation enacted by the State of Michigan legislature and signed by Governor Whitmer permitting virtual public meetings, the Albion Small Urban Task Force will be holding a meeting via a Microsoft Teams on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to allow local officials and interested citizens to provide input into the allocation of state and federal funds for use on eligible rural routes and transit systems in Paw Paw – Lawton Urbanized Area for fiscal years 2022 – 2026.

Reaffirmation of KATS 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan

The public is invited to comment on the proposed reaffirmation of the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) as part of the public comment period running from October 28, 2020 until the adjournment of the Kalamazoo Area Transportation Study’s virtual Policy Committee via Zoom teleconference scheduled for November 18, 2020 at 9:00 am.

This public meeting and comment period is your opportunity to review and comment on the KATS 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan, which identifies the Kalamazoo Metropolitan Area’s transportation needs, summarizes the transportation network, and provides a vision for addressing those identified needs over the next 20+ years. The 2045 MTP is set to expire on April 27, 2021 and is proposed to be reaffirmed through November 30, 2021 to ensure a valid plan is in place until a new
2050 plan is approved.

Information on how to participate in the public meeting will be published on our website at www.katsmpo.org a week prior to the scheduled meeting on November 18, 2020 and will also be included on the meeting agenda. Public comments can be submitted at any time at sstepek@katsmpo.org, or can be made at the meeting during the comment opportunity.

Rural Task Force #3 Meeting Announcement

Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ recommendations designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Executive Order 2020-15 declaring public bodies subject to the Open Meetings Act can use telephone or video conferencing technology to meet and conduct business, Rural Task Force #3 will be holding a meeting via a conference call on Wednesday April 8, 2020 at 10;00 a.m.  The purpose of the meeting is to allow local officials and interested citizens to provide input into the allocation of federal and state funds for eligible rural routes and transit systems in Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph counties for fiscal years 2020 – 2023.
