Sturgis Small Urban Meeting

A public meeting will be held on Thursday July 7, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of allowing local officials and interested citizens to comment on the selection and prioritization of projects utilizing Federal Aid funds within the Sturgis Small Urban boundary.  The meeting will be held at the St. Joseph County Road Commission:

In Michigan, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) distributes Federal Aid money to local agencies.  Small Urban Task Forces prioritize the use of Federal Aid funds on projects for roads and transit within urban areas with populations of 5,000 to 50,000.

FY 2023-2026 Transportation Improvement Program

This is the final draft of the FY 2023-2026 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Public comments can be made at the KATS Technical Committee meeting on Thursday, May 12, 2022. The document is proposed to be adopted at the KATS Policy Committee meeting on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 pending recommendation by the Technical Committee.

Kalamazoo Bike Week Event

The annual Kalamazoo Bike Week community event is going virtual! This years theme is “Building Bike Friendly Communities.” As always, this Bike Week event is free to attend and is co-hosted by KATS and Bike Friendly Kalamazoo.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Air Quality Ozone Conformity Report

The Draft Transportation Conformity Report for Kalamazoo-Battle Creek Limited Orphan Area is available for public comment. The air quality conformity analysis includes the Kalamazoo MPO area, the Battle Creek MPO area, and the rural areas of Calhoun, Kalamazoo and Van Buren Counties for the FY 2023-2026 Transportation Improvement Program. KATS’ public comment period is open through May 25, 2022.
